ENGLISH POWADA STYLE POEM
BY GAJANAN L. BHONDE
Poem – “India, That is Bharat”
Stanza 1 – The Timeless Flame
India, the sun that never sets in the heart,
A river of gold where dreams and duties start,
Like the peacock’s plume, proud and wide it stands,
Guarding the soul with a thousand hands.
Stanza 2 – The Song of the Soil
From the drum of monsoon to the flute of spring,
Every grain of earth knows what songs to sing,
Like the banyan’s shade, her wisdom flows,
Roots deep as truth, in each wind it grows.
Stanza 3 – The Warrior’s Drum
She roars like steel when the storms arrive,
Yet smiles like dawn, keeping hope alive,
The lion’s courage, the swan’s pure grace,
Bharat is strength with a gentle face.
Stanza 4 – The Temple and the Torch
From Vedas’ hymns to the Ganga’s light,
Her culture’s stars pierce the darkest night,
Like a lamp in storms, she will never fall,
Her spirit’s echo shakes the tyrant’s wall.
Stanza 5 – The Eternal Oath
O land of sages, of dreamers bold,
Your story is inked in a script of gold,
Bharat — a sky where the eagles soar,
A heartbeat’s song that will sing evermore.
